Pitt has earned the commitment of Jackson Brown, a former three-star recruit and the son of former Panther Tony Brown who transferred away from California after one season.
Brown has four seasons of eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot-6, 305 pound offensive lineman played in just one game in 2022, his lone season at Cal. He played at right guard and helped the Golden Bears to a season-high 406 passing yards against USC.
Brown was a two-time all-state selection at San Ramon High School in California. He chose to stay home among 31 offers, including from Pitt. According to the 247Sports crystal ball projections, Pitt finished second to Cal in earning Brownβs commitment out of high school. Brown was originally recruited to Pitt by former wide receivers coach Brennan Marion, who is now at the same position at Texas.
He will join BJ Williams, Ryan Baer, and Isaiah Montgomery as Panthers offensive linemen with freshman or redshirt freshman status in 2023. While Brown likely wonβt play right away, there is upside to like with the potential pairing with the former top recruit Baer across the offensive line.
2024 ATHLETE COMMITS
Pat Narduzzi also picked up the commitment of 2024 three-star athlete Davin Brewton on Thursday.

Rated as a three-star on Rivals but unranked on 247Sports, Brewton held eight offers, including from West Virginia. Listed at 6-foot-1 and 205 pounds, Brewton most likely profiles as a linebacker.
